Reimagining power semiconductors from the ground up — an open platform where silicon, silicon carbide, and gallium nitride converge to deliver the right technology for every application.
Pravin founded PiSemiconductors around a simple but neglected conviction: power electronics should be organized around applications, not around materials or captive fabs.
Across chargers, inverters, grid converters, data-centre power systems, electric vehicles, renewables and industrial drives, designers are often forced to make a material decision too early. Silicon, SiC or GaN becomes not only a device choice, but a manufacturing path, a supply-chain constraint and a strategic lock-in. The fab begins to dictate the architecture.
PiSemiconductors was created to reverse that order.
Under Pravin's leadership, the company is building an open power-semiconductor platform designed to bring silicon power, silicon carbide and GaN-on-Si onto a common manufacturing backbone — with shared infrastructure, in-house epitaxy and fabrication, disciplined process control, and enough openness for device makers to bring their own IP onto the platform.
His view is manufacturing-first: a breakthrough device is not a product until it can be yielded, repeated, qualified and shipped reliably. But his ambition is also ecosystem-first. PiSemiconductors is not being built as another closed fab. It is being built as a neutral industrial platform where materials, processes, device IP, packaging and applications can meet without forcing every participant to rebuild the same infrastructure from scratch.
For Pravin, the fastest path to electrifying everything is not to hoard capacity or technology behind isolated walls. It is to build a great platform, qualify it deeply, open it carefully, and let the best power-device companies scale on top of it.
That belief runs from the substrate to the fab, from the wafer to the module, and from the device idea to the real-world systems that must trust it.
A fab manufactures wafers. A platform manufactures trust. If India wants to matter in power semiconductors, it cannot copy yesterday's fabs — it must build the industrial backbone on which the next generation of device companies can stand.
A multidisciplinary group spanning device technology, power-electronics applications, operations, technology, and legal & policy — assembled to build an open, manufacturable semiconductor platform.

Professor & Chair, Dept. of Electronic Systems Engineering, IISc Bangalore · Co-Founder, AGNIT Semiconductors.
Prof. Mayank Shrivastava is a leading Indian semiconductor-device technologist and an investigator in India's Gallium Nitride ecosystem and prototyping-fab initiatives. His research and translational work covers GaN-based high-power devices, nanoscale and high-voltage device design, process integration, reliability, ESD protection, advanced CMOS nodes, device-circuit co-design and emerging materials such as graphene and TMDCs. He has previously worked with Infineon Technologies, IBM Microelectronics and Intel, bringing a rare combination of academic depth, industrial device experience and commercialization orientation, alongside hundreds of peer-reviewed publications and a substantial patent portfolio. For our platform, he strengthens the technical governance layer by advising on platform architecture, GaN/SiC technology strategy, reliability qualification, India-based R&D linkages and the translation of advanced device concepts into manufacturable power-semiconductor platforms.
